How Physical Movement Gets You Happy and Present!

One quick way to get elated is by moving that body of yours. You heard me, get up off of your seat right this very minute and jump around. Wherever you are just do it.

More often than not, physical movement alters our mood for the better. It stimulates various brain chemicals that may leave you feeling happier and more relaxed. Every time I’m feeling stuck, especially when I’m writing at the computer, I just need to get up and dance around and let out a scream and voila! I’m instantaneously in my body and my mood has shifted for the better.
Don’t have time to get to the gym? Go take a walk around the block. Can’t stop where you are and jump & shout for a few minutes? Go into a bathroom and do it there – minus the shriek however. Screaming in public places might get you happy, but it might also get you in trouble.
Whatever it is you can do to move your body; be it working out at the gym, taking a yoga class, or jumping around at home, do it. Your body, mind and spirit will thank you.
